The Port of Oakland wrapped up 2025 with cargo volumes holding steady, proving it as a gateway for USA and Asia commerce.
December 2025, it 179,580 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) – This includes the imports, exports and empty containers handled.
The export import volume is 140,050 TEUs for December 2025.
Over the full calendar year, Oakland processed 2,253,976 TEUs, finishing essentially flat with a minor 0.4% decrease compared to 2024. The split of import and exports as 50 is to 50.
Bryan Brandes, Maritime Director at the Port of Oakland, emphasized that maintaining predictable cargo flows was a priority throughout the year, enabling supply chains to function reliably despite external headwinds.
