Port of Long Beach creates record on container imports in history of 114 years, Will the coming months be low on imports?

The Port of Long beach Has reached historic milestone in the last 114 years, this is an outcome of the paused tariff, pushing importers of USA and exporters outside to move the shipments quickly to avoid extra charges. The goods are purchased at a lower cost giving additional benefits to both buyer and seller.
Below are the statistics of containers exports and imports for Port of Long Beach
It is a major port in West Coast USA to handle highest number of containers
The month of May, June and July have been three consecutive busiest months in last 11 years.
In the month of July-2025 the port handled
944,233 TEU’s which included
468,081 TEU of imports – increase of approx. 7% from same month last year.
91,328 TEU of exports – decrease of approx. 13% from same month last year.
384,824 TEU empty containers for – increase of approx. 12% from same month last year.
In June 2025 the imports of goods in USA was approx. USD 244 billion, an increase of approx. 12% in comparison to same month last year.
USA imports from China increased by approx. 44% in July 2025 in comparison to June 2025
The sudden surge in imports is due to tariff pause. We expect a minimum 10- 15% decrease in imports from Aug to Dec 2025 in comparison to same time duration of 2024.
