5 Dead in vessel collision between Turkish coast guard and a migrant boat

Incidence – Recently on 7th Sept 2025, A Turkish coast guard vessel collided with a boat filled with 35 migrants. The accident took place in North West Turkey, the location was near Ayvalik district’s Badavut coast. After the collision the boat toppled and all the 35 migrants fell into water.

Impact – 5 migrants have been confirmed to be dead, while one is severely injured and one person is missing for the which search is still going on.

History – Aegen Sea is long known as the gateway of Europe for migrants. There has been regular infiltration through this route and even after several initiatives taken the migration can’t be stopped.
