As discussed in our earlier blog, their has new routes opened for movement of containerized cargo from Khor Fakkan port to Jebel Ali. Recently for Jebel Ali cargo below three Indian vessels are the first to move Jebel Ali containerized cargo.
1. SSL Godavari – Shipping line DP World – Mundra ETD – 15th March and Khor Fakkan ETA – 17th March, the vessel is carrying only refrigerated / perishable cargo to the Khor Fakkan, it sailing with half of its capacity. The vessels wait time at Khor Fakkan is 5 to 9 days as of today due to vessel congestion at the port.
The freight for reefer containers ranges ~8500 USD per container.
The BL with POD as Jebel Ali port does not need amendment as the containers will move in customs bounded truck from Khor Fakkan to Jebel Ali port means containers will be released from Jebel Ali, the customs seal will be entact till their.
2. MSC TIA V- Shipping line – MSC – Nhava Sheva Port ETD 18th Mar and Khor Fakkan ETA – 20th March. They are moving dry containers with additional freight of ~ 4000 USD/20’. The BL will POD as Jebel Ali , if picked then needs to be surrendered as the Port of Discharge will be Khor Fakkan on BL and will be end point as consignee needs to release containers at Khor Fakkan port.
3. Oshairij – Shipping Line – CMA CGM, Nhava Sheva Port ETD 24th March and Khor Fakkan ETA 26th March. They are moving all type of containers and additional freight is not known till now. The POD will be Khor Fakkan on BL and not Jebel Ali, the consignee needs to receive cargo from Khor Fakkan port.
Slowly we are seeing the movement of ships and container movement from Khor Fakkan port and Al Fujairah port to Jebel Ali and other parts of UAE in a very higher freight.
