Ocean freight for exports from India in Feb 26 compared to Jan 26

For February 2026, ocean freight rate for exports from India remained stable in comparison to Ocean freight of January 2026. Though Maersk has shifted its MECL service through Red Sea but still there is no decrease in Ocean freight in Feb’ 26.

We expect the ocean freight to reduce in Feb’ 26 second half and in March 2026 due to Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year) from Feb 16–22. With demand set to decline further once factories close, freight prices are likely to ease further into February, especially if carriers refrain from aggressive blank sailings.

Many shipping lines have announced the PSS from Jan but are pulling back now.

India exports is expected to increase after trade deals for

  • India Europe

  • India USA

  • India Middle East

Yet with USA – Iran conflict their remains a chance of sudden hike.
