Import Business on Hold: Wintrack Ceases Operations in India since 1st October 2025

Wintrack founder Prawin Ganesha, recently announced that they will close all operations in India due delay in imports shipment release from customs.

One of their shipment work USD 6,993 iss hold for imports due to issues in customs clearance.

As per Indian customs the cargo details were wrongly mentioned in the shipping bill and contained undeclared USB charging cables with built-in batteries, which require a valid EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) certificate under the Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022. Whereas Wintrack is unable to provide the related documents.

Presently entral Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) has taken up the case and will re evaluate all the facts and then provide its report for taking the decision.
