Fire at Qing Hua Shan – update 2

As per present status the fire at Qing Hua Shan vessel is brought completely under control and the vessel is docked at Southampton port.

Incidence – The vessel was loaded with metal scrap and docked at gate 20 at Southampton port when the fire broke out at around 6 PM on 26th Oct’ 2025. The fire engulfed the hold number 3 and then 4. The firefighting team was quick to act.

It took approx. 40 fire fighters, seven fire engines and aerial ladder support to control the fire.

We have mentioned other details in our earlier blog.

The vessel is still docked at Southampton port and is under monitoring to check if there is any flares left. Once the monitoring is complete the vessel will leave to its destination.

The assessment for monetary is not yet confirmed and assessment will start shortly.
