DP World Rail wins ‘Best Rail Freight Service Provider’ award for second consecutive year

DP World Rail has been recognised as the ‘Best Rail Freight Service Provider’ for the second consecutive year at the National Logistics Excellence Awards (LEAPS) 2025 held at Vanijya Bhawan in New Delhi.

The award was presented by Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, during the LEAPS 2025 ceremony organised by DPIIT under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

LEAPS (Logistics Excellence, Advancement and Performance Shield) recognises operational excellence, innovation, multimodal connectivity, and efficiency improvements across India’s logistics sector.

DP World has emerged as one of India’s largest private rail freight operators with:

• More than 90 operating rail rakes

• Around 16,000 containers

• 7 Inland Container Depots and Private Freight Terminals

The company plays a major role in both domestic and EXIM cargo movement through integrated rail and multimodal logistics services.

The recognition comes at a time when India is aggressively pushing multimodal logistics infrastructure under PM GatiShakti and the National Logistics Policy to reduce logistics costs and strengthen export competitiveness.

India recently recorded exports worth USD 863 billion in FY2025-26 and is now targeting USD 1 trillion exports, increasing the importance of efficient rail freight and inland logistics networks.
