With the on-going situation between Israel and Gulf countries the war seems to be imminent.
Historically the wars between Israel and Gulf countries have been short but if it stretches like the Russia- Ukraine war then the impact will be on long term.
The war once started, will be fought on all the three fronts – water, air and land. On the water front both the sides will try to damage the vessel of other side. Thus the movement of vessel from and to Gulf countries might be restricted. Gulf of Hormuz is the passage for 7 countries exim movement.
The first impact of war will be on increase of bunker cost leading to freight increase.
Even though US has its 5th fleet of Navy based at Bahrain but this might not be sufficient to retain the peace in the region.
Recently US department of defence has released a video of intercepting and engaging Iran ballistic missiles. Two US Navy destroyers USS Cole and USS Bulkeley deployed in the eastern mediterranean intercepted the Iranian missiles.
This news has been posted on CNN website.
To avoid such situation both the sides should find a peaceful way out.
