Incidence - On 1st October morning, 5:30 AM, a merchant ship MSC Silver II hit a fishing boat Pratyasha, as per news the boat sailed close to the merchant ship and was grazed and the net was torn.
A legal complaint has been filed at Cochin Coastal Police Station.
Impact – There have been no causalities, crew of the ship and boat are safe, and the fish boat Pratyasha was damaged.
Usually the merchant ships follow a fix route near the port which is directed by GPS. This incidence reminds of caution to be taken care by merchant ships and fish boats as they share a common space.
Apart from this MSC is already fighting a case in Kerala court after MSC ELSA 3 drowned near Kerala coast.
