Maersk is implementing some changes due to forex issues in Mozambique. Since 20th October 2025 for all the exports from global countries to Mozambique, all the charges of destination and origin will be paid at origin. Due to forex issue many of the payments are either delayed or not done, thus to avoid these issues all the charges need to be paid on prepaid at origin country.

Earlier since 15th July 2025, all the freight and sub-freight charges were on prepaid by since 20th Oct’ 2025, all the destination charges also will be on prepaid including THC, BL charges etc.

The major ports are Maputo, Beira, and Nacala.

Also, this will not be applicable for shipments moving from Mozambique to hinterland locations in African continent.
