Maersk response to USTR service charges for Chinese ships

Recently on 23rd Sept’ 2025, Maersk released on advisory that it would not add any surcharges for the USTR (United Stated Trade Regulation) proposal to add service charges from 14th Oct’ 2025 on Chinese company owned ships and Chinese built ships. We have mentioned these service charges and shipping line response in our earlier blog.

Maersk has stated that no service charges will be added and their will be no changes on the services due to USTR section 301.

Though its not mentioned the advisory but Maersk is going to suspend its TP9 service of Gemeni co-operation from October 2025. The service-connected East Asia to West America and the routing was Xiamen- Busan – Long Beach. The last sailing for this service was Synergy Keelung 539E, sailing from Xiamen on 23rd Sept’ 2025.

Also Maersk has added PSS from India and Gulf to USA East coast as per details in our new blog.

Also all the shipping lines are expected to remove the Chinese vessel from the USA services.
