Maersk expands cold chain logistics for Chile–U.S. East Coast fruit exports

Maersk has introduced a new integrated cold chain logistics solution connecting Chile with the U.S. East Coast, targeting exporters of temperature-sensitive fresh produce. The service combines ocean transportation with inland logistics and cold storage to help maintain product quality throughout the supply chain.

The solution is designed for regulated cargo such as grapes, citrus, cherries and other perishable fruits that require strict temperature control from origin to destination. By integrating transportation, refrigerated handling and inland distribution under a single logistics network, Maersk aims to reduce transit risks, improve visibility and shorten delivery times for exporters serving North American markets.

The launch comes as demand for reliable cold chain logistics continues to grow during South America's fruit export season. For shippers, the service could improve supply chain efficiency while supporting product freshness and reducing spoilage across the Chile–U.S. East Coast trade lane.
