How Ukraine attack on Russia’s Primorsk Oil Terminal is the biggest loss for Russia

Incidence – On 12th September 2025 night, Ukraine executed a major drone attack on Russia’s Primorsk oil terminal, which is its largest oil terminal in Baltic Sea.
Impact – As per the Ukraine’s media below are expected damage
Around three pump stations are damaged
Pump station Andreapol
Pump station 3
Pump station 7
Two oil tankers were damaged in the attack
Cai Yun – capacity of 7,00,000 million barrels of oil
Kusto – capacity of 7,00,000 million barrels of oil
The terminal has been damaged at multiple location and presently the oil exports is halted from Primorsk Terminal, which is a critical point at this time
As per report from Russia’s defense ministry – 221 drones were launched at midnight and while most of them were intercepted and 28+ drone were downed at Leningrad region

It’s Russia’s largest oil terminal in Baltic Sea
This terminal is the end point to further oil movement through Baltic Sea
Primorsk Terminal Capacity – 1million oil barrel per day exports capacity
Annual exports is approx. 60 million tones of oil and the annual revenue generation is approx. 15 billion USD
This port handles the shadow fleet vessels giving strength to Russia Oil exports
The war is taking a bad shape and both the sides are facing damages.
