Incidence – Recently on 25th October 2025, Chinese cargo vessel Haili 5 collided with container ship Wan Hai A17. The accident took place near Pearl River Estuary, in South China Sea which is one of busiest Ocean route in the world, just near to Shenzhen port, Hong Kong and Macao.
There was immediate action taken by Chinese maritime authority and many rescue ships and helicopters quickly reached the site to provide support.
Impact - Vessel Haili 5 sunk after the collision, there was a crew of 15 members on the vessel and till now only 13 members have been safely rescued and search is still going on for 2 members.
Vessel Wan Hai A17 has been severely damaged.
