Changes in Maersk Senior Management in Europe and India

Recently Maersk has announced changes in its Senior management role.  Below are the details

  • The present head for Europe Aymeric Chandavoine is going to replaced by Guillaume Sauzedde

  • The present head for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Christopher Cook is going to be replaced by Thomas Theeuwes . The change is effective from 1st January 2026.

  • Christopher Cook will be replacing Gary Jeffreys as MD of UK, Gary Jeffreys is leaving Maersk and moving as Managing Director of Novachain.

Christopher Cook is moving to the same role for United Kingdom and Ireland.

Also as per recent announcement by Maersk on 12th December 2025 below are management changes done

  • Ditlev Blicher appointed Regional President for North America

  • Scott Andrew Elliott appointed interim Regional President of Asia-Pacific


  • Maersk appoints new CFO ( Chief Financial Officer) - Robert Erni

Robert Erni is a Swiss national with more than 30 years of experience in finance functions across the global logistics sector

Current CFO, Patrick Jany, will oversee the year-end closing and the annual report, to be announced on 5 February, after which the transition takes effect

Thomas Theeuwes joined Maersk in 2007 in Belgium and has held senior commercial and leadership positions across Europe, China, and Africa, consistently driving operational excellence and customer-centric growth.

Presently he is serving as Managing Director of the West Africa Area since 2024.

Christopher Cook joined Maersk in 2002 and in last two decades has worked across Africa, Europe, Middle East and India with both Damco and Maersk, he is a British national and is going back home now.
