On 8th Oct A vessel in Chornomorsk port was hit by missile. Vessel name is Shui Spirit, it is a Panama Flagged containership. The vessel is giving a feeder service from Ukraine to Romania.
Impact of the attack – 1 person (Ukrainian National) was killed and 5 crew members were injured.
Chornomorsk Port & Odessa port touches black sea. This is the time when Ukraine harvest leads to high exports.
After the Russia Ukraine war started in Feb 2022, there have been several attacks in Ukrainian ports . The last 3 instances are as below.
- On 6th Oct a vessel Paresa was also attacked by missile inflicting damage to the ship.
- On 20th sept, near Odessa port a vessel sailing under flag of Antigua was attacked.
- On 12th Sept, a Ukrainian vessel was attacked.
There have been several attacks on Ukrainian port since 24th Feb 2022 when the Russia Ukraine war escalated. This is impacting the exports of both the countries.
