Record of handling highest number of containers on a ship at Vizhinjam Port.

• Recently on 27^th Sept, Vizhinjam port made a record by handling highest number of containers on a vessel – 10,330 containers.
• The vessel was MSC ANNA with a length of approx. 400 meters and width of approx. 60 meters.
• Presently the trial run a going on since 12^th July and the complete operation is expected to start on 3^rd Dec 2024
• Vizhinjam port has also handled MSC Claude Girardet. On record it’s the largest vessel docked at any India port, she has a capacity of approx. 24,000 TEU.
